Illustration Friday: Celebrate

Again, this is a recycled illustration. I didn't really have time to improve it...I never realized how much it looks like the dinosaur one I did for "Time"...

Illustration Friday: Time

Damn....it's been a while. Unfortunately, I'm not finding the time to do Illustration Friday. Fortunately, it's because I'm busy with work...and during times like these, that's not a bad problem to have. However, that being said I felt very rushed to complete this. I won't go on and on...please critique and hopefully enjoy.

Illustration Friday: Save

Man, I'm completely inconsistent with this blogging/illustration thing. Well I decided to dedicate myself this week, and by dedicate I mean complete at the last minute. You can kinda tell, especially due to the lack of color and the really off-base interpretation of the topic. Either way I had fun with it and I hope it makes somebody laugh. There is some logic behind this though.

1. I had a ton of scrap black match paper. So I decided to "save" a tree and use these scraps instead.

2. The first thing that came to mind was saving animals. Pandas look good on black paper, so why not a panda?

3. The panda is the logo for the WWF, the World Wildlife Foundation...and the WWF used to be..well, the World Wrestling Federation...that's about where I ended up.

As always constructive criticism is desired. Hope you enjoy.

Illustration Friday: Leap

So I decided to try something new. I ( or rather my work) always gets labeled as "cute", and you know what? That's fine. But I want to start branching out, and Illustration Friday is the perfect opportunity to do so. So even though I remained pretty literal in my interpretation I decided to break out of my usual style. There is obviously a lot of Gorey influence going on, but I think it still remained my own.

As far as the illustration itself....I just thought it would be funny to see distinguished gentlemen act like children...and any excuse to draw handlebar mustaches is cool with me.

Illustration Friday: Multiple

Ok, so I've been missing assignments here. But I made an effort this week and I got an illustration done in time. I always seem to wait until the last minute, or rather, I don't have a composition I'm happy with until the last minute. Like always, I welcome any constructive criticism. I enjoy any positive comments, but well thought-out suggestions are really what I'm hunting for. I hope everyone enjoys this, I enjoyed doing it. Thanks for checking out my page...more to come.

Illustration Friday: Legends and Tales

So this is the illustration I did for the topic Legends and Tales. It took me forever to decide on a subject so I just decided to go with the first fairy tale that came into my head. I like trying figures, especially goofy-looking ones and so the emperor came into my head. I really like the way he came out...especially his face and man-boobs. Again, I wish I had spent more time deciding color and working on the rest of the composition. It feels rushed. But hey, let me know what you think. I feel it does tell the story well, though.

Illustration Friday: Choose

So I have finally done it and have started a blog. I've always been hesitant about it for fear of jumping on some sort of bandwagon. But rather than uphold some lame pretentious attitude, I've decided that I want to put my drawings up and that I welcome people's criticism. With that being said here is my submission for Illustration Friday's topic "choose". I feel like it got kinda rushed at the end, and I never really think out my color choices. But hey, not bad for a first post. I'm realizing now that I'm writing more than I intended. I may having already contracted the blog bug...going to bed before it gets worse.
